Post-Steampunk World’s Fair Updates

Steampunk World’s Fair has come and gone,  and as usual, it was a blast. this year I was lucky to share space with not only Wicked Raven Studios, but also Doc Stone, master leather-worker. Our room was a bizarre of unique awesome, and I was thrilled to have been a part of it.

I was thrilled to be able to present two Artists’ Studios this year. The first, Anatomy for Artists, was held on Friday afternoon, and the second, Light and Shadow, was held Saturday night. Rather than “teach” or hold “lessons,” these Salons were open studio times for the artists in attendance. I’m looking forward to bringing these Salons back to future events.

But now that SPWF is over, it’s time to look ahead.

Where will I be next?

July 29th, 2017 – Scranton, PA – Arts on the Square – “The 5th Annual Arts on the Square, wraps around the beautiful Courthouse Square in the center of downtown Scranton, PA. with over 100 vendors, live art experieces, music, food & family fun.” Let’s cross our fingers that it doesn’t rain this time!

August 12, 13, 14, 2017 – Frederick, MD – Steampunk Frederick – “Doc Stone welcomes you to Steampunk Frederick, your air-conditioned Steampunk home in the middle of Downtown Frederick, MD! Tomfoolery, carousing, and plenty of monkey business is planned with ample opportunity to enjoy the Clustered Spires High Wheel (a.k.a. Pennyfarthing) Race!”

There may be more on the way, as well. I’ll keep you all informed of any updates!

In the mean time, it’s back to the studio for me!

Happy Snowpocalypse 2017!

Usually I’m one of those folks that shrugs off a bit of snow, but we just got dumped with 28″ yesterday, and even I can’t shrug off that. Here in the Poconos (just south of Scranton, PA) we’re still digging out. If the weather report is any indication, we’re going to be digging out for a while yet, because more snow is on the way! As long as the power stays on, though, the Studio will keep operating.

Snow Days do bring about a bit of busy-work, though. I’m happy to say that there are several new items in the Etsy shop. We’ve got new pendants and new spoons, and a few new miniature plaques as well. There are larger pieces in the works–several frames and trinket boxes, and a few new plaques as well–but I’m afraid you may have to wait until the next show to see those.

Speaking of shows…

I keep intending to take a year off to rebuild and restock, and that just never seems to work out. So I’m updating both this website and my Facebook with the new information as the week goes on. For now, here are the details I have so far:

March 17-19 – Dark Side of the Con, Piscataway NJ: I’ll be assisting at this show, not vending, but if you’ll be there, stop by the info booth and say hello!

April 29th – Lewisburg Arts Festival, Lewisburg PA: From 10am til 5pm, join us on Market Street for a day of entertainment, music, and art vendors.

May 5-7 – Steampunk World’s Fair, Piscataway NJ: OH YEAH WE’RE COMING BACK HOME! We’ll be returning to the Embassy Suites with Wicked Raven Studio and special guest, Doc Stone.

And if all goes well, in August we’ll be headed down to Maryland for

August 11-13 – Steampunk Frederick, Frederick MD: Air conditioned, with penny farthing races! This is the event’s second year, and we expect great things from it’s sophomore appearance!

Updates to the website are coming, slowly but surely, so check back for more info as it becomes available.

Patreon: November and December Perks

Happy Thanksgiving Week, my lovely pyros!

If you are a patron of mine over on Patreon, I have a few lovely treats coming to you in quick succession.

You may have noticed the new line of Yuletide ornaments in the Artfire shop. They’re a bit of a departure from the designs of yesteryear, even though I use the same cutouts to create them. For November’s Patreon perk, I’ll be sharing the old patterns for the Santa Hat and Sleigh with you, as well as this year’s Gingerbread Man and Reindeer designs.

In addition, on the 29th, I’ll be uploading an exclusive video walk-through on how to create the Santa Hat yourself. The technique is the same for all of the ornaments, so this should allow you to add quite a few new decorations to your holiday tree!

Then, in the first week of December, I’ll be walking you through making a token which can be used for a pendant, keychain, or charm. The design will be one of my old Green Men patterns, making it the perfect gift for your father, brother, or other more “masculine” loved one!

For more information, or to become a Patron, visit my Patreon page here.

Greenwood Creations on Zazzle: The Expanding

There have been some massive updates to the Zazzle shop, so I thought it would be wise to mention a few of them.

The products in the shop are now broken up by Theme, rather than Item. Instead of sections for “clothes,” “keychains,” etc, I’ve divided the shop into five main categories:

  • Fairytales and Fancies – Nymphs, fairies, and other magical creatures reside here.
  • Gothic Delights – Ravens, skulls, masquerades; everything to delight the Gothic heart is collected here.
  • Pagan and Heathen – Goddess figures, Green Men, and other pagan symbols gather here.
  • Pentacles – Because there are just so darned many of them, I’ve given the Pentacles a category of their own.
  • Steampunk and Sci-Fi – All of my mad lady scientists and their creations can be found in this category.

If you are looking for a specific design and do not feel like searching, please click on the “Collections” tab.

Here, items are grouped by design, rather than theme.

All items featuring that design (which are currently available) have been placed into their proper collection.

If you prefer to find every keychain available, for example, here is a quick visual tutorial for doing that:

More items are added weekly. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter to get updates!

Farewell, Faire Season!

The 2016 Festival Year is officially over for me! Though I was tempted to do a few more autumn and winter shows, I’ve decided to say “no.”

The winter of 2016-2017 will be spent on stock and custom orders only.

Custom Orders

I still have a rather long list of custom orders to work through that will take me at least until January, so for the time being, I’m afraid custom orders will remain closed.

As we get closer to 2017, and I have a clearer view of the current projects’ completions, I will start posting information on taking commissions for 2017. I will, however, be strictly limiting the number of commissions I take. If you have not already done so, please sign up for the mailing list now, so you will have notice of when commissions become available.

Our Shop Has Moved

I’ve decided to move our main shop over to ArtFire. As of now, the new shop only contains items which are currently in stock and ready to ship.

As new items are finished, I will add them to the ArtFire store. As for items which are pre-order or made-to-order, I am still unsure if I will be offering those before 217, simply because of the current backload of commissioned products. If this changes, I will be sure to send out a newsletter to tell everyone!

The Zazzle Shop

Zazzle keeps adding fun new products, so check there regularly to see what’s new! I’ve started sharing new Zazzle items on my social media accounts, as well, so if you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you’ll be kept well-informed.

Zazzle can be a tricky site for shoppers to navigate, so if you ever get lost, just search “greenwood creations” in the Search bar.

As always, thank you for your support, and brightest blessings!
